One child, one teacher, one book, and one pen, can change the world.

Why I’m Running

It has been apparent for several years now that our school district needs help. We see it in our children everyday. Far too many students are under-serviced and behind when they transition to high school. This is not because we have bad teachers. We simply do not have enough good teachers because our district gets rid of them before they become permanent faculty members. We saw this in March of 2019 when the current Governing Board voted 3-2 to accept the resignation of 16 teachers that would otherwise be non reelected (fired).

In a single evening, in one swift vote, our School Board was able to drown what little trust the community had left in our school district.

I am running to fight for teachers who advocate for resources and student needs.

I am running to uplift our most marginalized students, so they can learn and grow.

I am running to restore our community’s faith in the Lemon Grove School District.

About Me

First and foremost, I am a woman who spends a lot of time advocating for justice.

I am a mother of four, with two children of my own, one stepson, one foster child, and one sweet grand-baby.

I am a teacher who’s spent 5 years teaching special education in the classroom.

Education has been a big part of my life and I believe it is the cornerstone of our society. I’ve spent the last 5 years advocating for the individual needs of our youth. I want to get parents and teachers involved in the governing process. Together we can bring quality, individualized education, back to the district.

Right now parents are leaving the Lemon Grove School District to seek education for their kids in the school districts of our surrounding communities. There is no reason the Lemon Grove School District can’t be the district that parents flock to. We just need the right leadership.

Join me because our success as a community depends upon the success of our youth.
